‘Road Runner Rallies’ is here to offer you the Ultimate Charity Banger Rally experience – “The Riviera Run” We offer you the chance to be take part in the road trip of all road trips! Let’s have a quick look at what’s involved with a Road Runner Charity Banger Rally.
A Charity Banger Rally is an exciting road trip for you and your mates! Travel across Europe over 5 days traveling over 1500 miles in an old banger and arrive in the sunshine of the French Riviera.
Journey times are kept short so you don’t spend too much time on the road. We start in France near the ferry port of Calais; negotiate the thrilling Gotthard Pass in the Swiss Alps, gaze across the Italian lakes, maybe a visit to the Ferrari Museum and the final leg to Cannes and the French Riviera. We have arranged excursions along the way and each evening we gather to exchange stories of the day’s adventures and drink lots of beer!!
A Banger Rally suits people of all ages and backgrounds Male and Female and does not cost a lot. We will be staying at good quality campsites where you can either camp to keep costs down or upgrade to a Chalet or Mobile Home. We have researched the route already and have identified some great things to do and great places to stay.
Whether you want to tear away on the motorway or navigate the winding roads of the Gotthard Pass our route has it all. We meet up at the campsite near Calais where the adventure begins. Next morning we travel through France before we move onto Switzerland where we will camp by Lake Lucerne where we have arranged a BBQ. From there we enjoy spectacular scenery as we cross the Alps via the Gotthard Pass and into Italy; from there the finish line awaits in the sun on the French Rivera.
We will give you a full guide of the route with details of things to do on route and including maps and directions for the night’s destination. It’s up to you how you get there!
In between, we have arranged a number of optional excursions for you: there will be visits to a Theme Park in the Snow, Go Carting, and maybe a trip to the Ferrari museum! You may prefer a little culture and a detour to the historic town of Reims or shopping in Milan? We have even arranged a very special Champagne Tasting whilst in France. The nightlife of St. Tropez and Cannes is also one not be misssed!
There will be evening events organised BBQ’s and other activities throughout the trip, as well as challenges; but we aren’t going to give away everything just yet!
With pre booked accommodation through us, all you have to worry about is burning some rubber! What could possibly go wrong!?!?
Once you’ve got a team together, you need to find your Road Runner Banger under the value of £500. Here’s where the fun starts!
EBay motors is a great source of Bangers or you may already have a suitable vehicle that you can tart up for the trip. We welcome unusual vehicles too Taxis, Ambulances, old hearses. Be creative and have some fun. The best Themed Team and Car will win a great Prize. We are in negotiations and hope to have something really special for the winning team.
The Accommodation
All you have to do is decide whether you would like to dust off your camping gear and sleep in tents or upgrade and stay in a Chalet or Mobile Home. Each of the camp sites that we have chosen offers the option of an upgrade, numbers are limited though so get your booking in early. It is very strictly first come first served. Once you have registered you will receive an email asking for your teams requirements.
We aim to offer you as much choice as possible. Most of the camp sites that we have picked have been personally checked by us and come with great facilities – shops, bars, restaurants, maybe a swimming pool. So cook if you want or use the bar and restaurant instead.
A Road Runner Rally gives you plenty of time to relax and recharge before the next leg of your journey. Leave all the booking and boring stuff to us so you can get on with enjoying a few beers and bottles of vino!
Our Charity Banger Rally is an excellent way of raising money for your chosen charity. Each team can nominate a charity or charities of their choice. We don’t have any hard and fast rules but we would expect each team to raise at least few hundred pounds. Collectively we want to raise over £30 000. Donating to charity is even easier when using www.justgiving.com. It really is simple to register. Alternatively we have a sponsor form for you to collect names and donations.
